A Few Things You Guys Should Know
1. I know it's hard to believe, and you probably wouldn't have heard about this anywhere, but my buddies (and fellow Reluctant Adults) Anton Strout and Mark Henry BOTH had books release yesterday! Because they're both so shy and retiring, I thought I'd mention it here.
This is my quickie review of Anton's book, and I'm sure you all remember when I reviewed Mark's book. So check the reviews, buy the books, have some fun! You deserve it, don't you?
2. Some serious news. Dave Kuzminski, who runs Preditors & Editors (which you all have bookmarked, right? At least all of you who write or want to write), is being sued.
From the P&E site:
Unfortunately, there are those who do not like P&E or its editor because we give out information that they would prefer remain hidden from writers. Usually, they slink away, but not this time. P&E is being sued and we are asking for donations to mount a legal defense in court. Please click on the link below and give if you can to help protect P&E so it can continue to defend writers as it has for the past eleven years.
Please donate if you can. The link is at the bottom of the "is being sued" link, or you can do it here (scroll down a little, it's just under the News Flash!)
Friday I'll have more content, and next week I'm starting my super-duper promo month for Personal Demons, with excerpts and contests and stuff. If you have a blog and want me to guest blog, let me know. If you are a reviewer and would like an ARC PDF let me know. I'll repeat all this next week, but this is your chance to make me jump through hoops and be sadistic towards poor little me in exchange for some publicity and suff, so start thinking, you devils you.

Wow, that's weird. I wonder if Ms. Bauer and PublishAmerica plan on suing every blog out there they've been outed on. Their lawyers will be pretty busy.
Wow, P and E is being sued. I guess I'm not surprised, but somehow I am.
I'm expecting to be served any minute now, Bernard, as I've blogged about both of them in the past. Of course, good luck to them, as I am not in the US and I understand that makes things much more complex. Heh heh.
I know, Charles, that's how I think a lot of us feel.
Yeah, it was really only a matter of time before someone took issue with P&E like that.
In my eyes, all it does is justify what P&E siad about them. If their practices and reputations were good, they'd have no reason to be worried aobut what P&E says.
Hm, that reads awkward...does it make sense...?
Perfect sense, Seeley. That's what I thought, too.
Same here, December. I wish them luck suing a German citizen. They'd have to pay a fortune for official translations to begin with. :)
*nods* Exactly, Seeley and Robyn. As if either of those scumbags had a decent rep to begin with. It's like being caught breaking into somebody's house and then suing the cops for arresting you.
Lol Gabriele! Yes, sometimes it is good to be overseas. I never even thought about the translations issue, duh.
I just wanted to say that I stumbled on your blog and have really been enjoying it. BUT aside from the quality of writing, one of the main reasons I decided to add it to my blogroll was because you have a "PROTECT" banner on your website. Very cool.
Wow, thank you Debra! My husband and I have been PROTECT members for two years now, and it's one of the things we're proudest of. I don't talk about it much here (although I have on occasion, like when telling everyone to stay away from any movie that scumbag Victor Salva had anything to do with), but I put the banner everywhere I can and try to get it out there. :-) Thanks so much, I hope you stick around!
Ha! I see you're a Vachss fan too (of course)! I love his books, although I admit I haven't enjoyed the recent ones as much. Still good, but not good like how the early ones were.
Cool blog!
December you are invited to do both on my blog, guest blog and/or send me a pdf to review. :)
Congrats to your friends, and thanks for the P&E info. We all need to support Dave because he does so much to give us correct and clear information so we can make informed decisions.
