Releases!

I had TWO new releases yesterday, from Whiskey Creek Press-Torrid!

First is my novel, Prince of Death. It's available both in ebook and print...and is very graphic, so be warned! Here's the blurb:

They called him the Prince of Death…

War is coming, and Prince Cynwrig's enemies the Cliothens will do anything to have victory. So when he finds Ayani Suntwister, a Cliothen warrior woman, lying beaten and near death in the road, he knows she's dangerous. When he allows her to seduce him, suspecting there is more to her sudden appearance in his lands than meets the eye, he knows he’s risking his life.

What he doesn't know is that the danger isn't just to his body, but to his heart as well. Will the Prince of Death find a reason to live in the arms of a woman he cannot trust-but cannot resist?

Next, I have a short story, The Ice House, in The Best of Torrid Teasers, Volume One. My Teaser (two erotic shorts in one book) was the debut book for the Teaser line--released in January 2006--so it's really exciting to have another Teaser release to start this year with! They're already up to Volume 20 with the Teasers--40 short stories--so being picked as one of the "Best of" is quite exciting. Not to mention my fellow Indulge Authors Anna J. Evans, Sherrill Quinn, and Kate Lang have stories in there as well! The Best of... is also available in ebook and print.

So go get those, and if you haven't already, go download your copy of The Black Dragon as well!

Prince of Death. That's the one I've really been waiting for. I love the fantasy aspect of it, and the tease you left on your website really left me wanting to read the whole thing. The more graphic, the better as far as I'm concerned. All right, hubby, time to break out that visa card!

Maybe I'll get the Black Dragon while I'm at it.

See, now I'm both excited and happy, and terrified you're going to hate it and never come back here again.

Terrified we'll hate it? Piffle!

Writers are prone to self-criticism, and being a woman only tends to make it worse. It helps if you picture yourself naked, rolling around on a big pile of $20 bills (or pounds or euros, or whatever). Honest, it really does help get the mind off the self-doubt and onto more important things. Like the, you know, cha-ching!

Honestly, though, I'm thinking I'll love it. I just read the sample at WCP, and I'm all, um, flushed. :)

Heh heh. Flushed is kind of the point with that one...

but trust me, picturing myself naked doing anything is not the way to boosting my self-confidence. Not since having two children. :-)

Picturing myself wearing a short skirt and a pair of expensive heels and walking on huge piles of money might help, though. (I have nice legs.)

kis is right. I pictured December rolling around naked in a pile of $20 bills and it helped . . .

Congrats, December. I'll sneak a download when I get a chance. -JTC

Talk about starting off the new year with a bang!

Congrats on all the action (as it were).

Two kids--pish posh. It's the third kid that really destroys your body. My third and last was 27 days overdue and weighed in at 5088 grams (11lbs, 3 1/2 oz, for those who don't think in metric). The little rotter left my entire torso a hideous, saggy, silvery-striped mess. Ughh.

Still, picturing myself nude on a stack of 20s still gets me all hot. I'd picture hundreds, but in Canada, they're too close to my skin tone, and I just blend in.

Lol, JTC! Now that boosted my ego!

Heh heh littlebirdblue. It's certainly...uh...bangy.

Oh, no, kis, in my case it was my first. I gained 60 pounds and (JTC, stop reading, because I need those ego boosts) have stretch marks from my upper thighs to my ribcage. I'm a small person, only 5'2, so there was nowhere for that 8lb. 6 oz. baby to go but OUT. People kept asking me if I was about to give birth when I was 5 months along. The skin on my stomach now looks like tissue paper. Tissue paper covering saggy flab, that is.

Yeah, December, I hear ya. In my case my stretch marks go all the way up over my boobs. Even my ass is covered. They've mostly faded, but you can still see them when the light hits a certain way. And the skin, well, you can imagine how much it stretched with an 11 lb baby. There's just no recovering from that.

Still, if I arch my back with my arms up over my head, so it's all pulled taut, I don't look too bad. Now I just have to find a job where I walk around like that all day and I'm good.

Tee hee, I lift mine up too and admire how flat my tummy is without all that extra yuck.

I don't worry about finding a job where it's like that, though, because I am a firm believer in stiff undergarments.

Oooer! Congrats! Sounds very exciting!!!
